The impressive 8642 m2 headquarters and academy were officially opened last Thursday, September 14, by Mr. Toshio Takiguchi, President and CEO of Canon Medical Systems Corporation.

The decision to move to Amstelveen is driven by a future-oriented approach that aligns with the new way of working post-pandemic era. Recognizing the evolving needs of its workforce, Canon Medical embraces a fresh approach to office spaces that prioritizes ergonomics, collaboration, and adaptability. Utilizing Deep Learning technology in real-time, the Alphenix / Evolve Edition is designed to enhance imaging while enabling reduced time and radiation dose during routine and complex Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and Structural Heart Disease (SHD) procedures, improving safety for clinicians and patients.

Designed for busy medical imaging departments, it delivers consistent imaging results, better image quality, lower radiation dose, and faster throughput, creating more time for patient care.

The Aquilion Serve is an efficient solution for all routine examinations, including trauma. Its newly designed 80-cm wide bore gantry features two, easy-to-use, touch panels and two inbuilt cameras that support automated one-touch patient positioning. Also introducing INSTINX, a next-generation workflow solution, which combines innovative AI-enabled automation with an intuitive user experience to support fast, easy, and safe CT examinations. The Celex offers an extensive range of advanced DR imaging capabilities. It combines state-of-the-art imaging with unique positioning flexibility and represents a true hybrid that delivers optimum capacity utilization. Designed with a small footprint, minimum installation space is required and the work area around the patient table is maximized.

Supreme agility

The new solution prioritizes workflow, patient comfort and has the flexibility, versatility, and sophistication to meet the complex demands and high standards of today’s medical imaging environment.

The Celex takes multi-purpose to a new level with wide projection flexibility and innovative features that enhance user ergonomics and patient comfort. To improve the workflow by using the Celex, it is possible to save up to almost a thousand different auto-positions and any position can be saved for future clinical procedure. The built-in ‘’inMotion’’ auto-positioning technology enables direct, automatic positioning of the detector and tube to any saved position with pre-set examination parameters.

The user interface enables intuitive control of the system movements and exposure parameters. Self-explanatory icons on the large touchscreen make the system operation efficient, yet easy to master. Depending on the user’s preferences, customizable buttons can be selected to ensure smooth operation tailored to each department’s needs.

The “inControl” Console is designed with only four touch-sensitive joysticks and features a clear touchscreen interface. The joysticks are not only color-coded but also have a distinctive shape making them highly distinguishable. In addition, the tabletop is detachable and allows users to detach and park it on a trolley in a few simple steps. This enhances the versatility and functionality of the system, by providing optimal space for patients in e.g., wheelchairs or on stretchers, and supports any procedure that requires free space inside the C-arm.

Safety first

Finally, the system is designed with patient and user safety in mind. Particular attention is paid to dose reduction. Together with the carbon fibre patient table, the Celex is made entirely of materials that allow minimal X-ray absorption for maximum dose reduction. The grid can be easily removed, and the patient table can be moved out of the X-ray beam. Furthermore, Canon Medical’s advanced software with specialized algorithms and specific programs for pediatric patients contribute to dose minimization. Zoetermeer, February 17, 2023 — On February 6, 2023, a large-scale earthquake caused extensive damage and loss of life in the Republic of Turkey and the Syrian Arab Republic. We at Canon would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this disaster and our thoughts go out to those suffering in its aftermath.

To aid in the relief efforts for the victims, the Canon Group has announced that it will make a donation of 100,000 euros (approximately US$ 106,334) via the Japanese Red Cross Society, the Turkish Red Crescent movement and other relief organizations. In addition, Canon Medical Systems Europe B.V. will provide free medical equipment for the medical support of the victims.

While we realize that the road to recovery will be challenging and time-consuming, we hope that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process.
